INDEX BY TITLE

I live in the Midwest which is Big Ten country. Once conference play starts virtually every Big Ten game is televised in my region and I commit myself to try and watch all of them. I have three televisions set up as some games are being played at the same time. I have no bias or affiliation to any Big Ten team as I am a lifelong Notre Dame fan (I include ND games in my viewing schedule as well). My comments and reports are qualified only by my love of the game and an extreme commitment to watching and following Big Ten football.

MOST INTRIGUING TV GAMES WEEK 2

A ranking of this week’s television games that I personally find most intriguing, top to bottom.

All games Saturday, September 9 unless noted

Oklahoma at Ohio St.     6:30 PM  ABC
Marquis matchup. Ohio St. will have to play better than they did in the opener.

Georgia at Notre Dame  6:30 PM  NBC
Big game for my Irish. Big game for Brian Kelly, too.

Iowa at Iowa St.     11:00 AM  ESPN2
Hawkeyes have a history of struggling in this game.

Pitt at Penn St.   2:30 PM  ABC
I went out on a limb and had this one penciled in as an upset loss for Penn St. when doing my preseason predictions. After week 1, that forecast seems even further out on the limb.

Western Michigan at Michigan St.  2:30 PM  BTN
Western Michigan gave USC a scare last Saturday. This seems to be a more likely spot for an upset. It’ll be my first look at Sparty.

Nebraska at Oregon  3:30 PM  FOX
I need to get a better look at Nebraska. This game will be a good barometer.

Minnesota at Oregon St. 9:00 PM  FS1
Truthfully, I probably won’t make it to the finish line on this one. The day starts early and this is a late one.

Ohio at Purdue  7:00 PM  FS1   Friday, September 8
I won’t get to see much, if any, of this one. I don’t make plans to watch college football on Friday nights. I am interested in seeing more of Purdue, though.

Cincinnati at Michigan  11:00 PM  ABC
I was impressed with Michigan last Saturday. I expect a bit of a letdown after the big win.

Western Kentucky at Illinois  7:00 PM  BTN
Can Illinois continue win against nonpower conference opponents? Oddsmakers say no.

Eastern Michigan at Rutgers   2:30 PM   BTN
Can’t believe I have games listed below this one.

Florida Atlantic at Wisconsin   11:00 AM   BTN
I do need to get a good look at Wisconsin, but considering the competition, I don’t think I’ll learn too much about the Badgers in this one.

Towson at Maryland  11:00 AM  BTN
Hmmm…Towson……….Pete?

Indiana at Virginia  2:30 PM  ESPNU
I don’t have access to ESPNU.

  1. I like Ohio St and Georgia in the two big match-ups. Take the points and GA, and give 7 to OK. A teaser would be ironclad. Rip me on Monday. I'm used to it.
